Located in Nagano, Japan, the Takasugi-an teahouse boasts a surreal appearance as it was constructed by driving downed trees into the ground. To access the teahouse, visitors must climb a precarious ladder that’s delicately balanced, then remove their shoes and ascend a second similarly balanced ladder. While the interior of the teahouse exudes charm, patrons should be cautious as the building is susceptible to swaying in the wind.
